New REAL Respiratory clinic now open

Education for Health has launched a free new online educational resource for healthcare professionals who have an interest in respiratory care called ‘the Respiratory Education and Learning (REAL) Respiratory clinic’.
The REAL Respiratory Clinic utilises elements of eLearning to create interactive and realistic case studies to assist you in managing your consultations better. There is also opportunity to sign up to a free REAL eNews alert and keep up to date on new content as well as the latest respiratory news.
This new free online resource enables the UK respiratory nursing community to improve their confidence and competence. The site has been developed to underpin and represent the concept of ‘real' practice, by recreating practical clinical experience using real case studies. The result is a dynamic, engaging and responsive learning experience.
Beverley Bostock, who created some of the case studies on the website says the REAL site is an exciting development in bite-sized learning. “As a hands-on clinician myself working in general practice, I know how hard it can be keeping up to date. The REAL Respiratory Clinic allows us to try out a case study, practice what we might do in that situation and prepare for practice in real life. Even better, we can dip in and out of the case studies as time allows. This way, learning fits into our lives, rather than our lives having to fit around our learning”.
The REAL Respiratory Clinic is funded by an unrestricted educational grant from Teva UK Limited. The site content is developed independently by an editorial board which includes Monica Fletcher (Chief Executive of Education for Health, Chair of European Lung Foundation), Erica Haines (Primary Care Respiratory Nurse and Education for Health Clinical Lead for Asthma), Beverley Bostock (Prescribing Nurse Practitioner and Education for Health Clinical Lead) and Anne Rodman (Advanced Practice Nurse and Lead Nurse for Respiratory Care and Education for Health Trainer).
